GENIUS GAGA ON THE TRACK AS USUAL......
Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" album debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 1,108,000 copies sold in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's only the 17th album to sell a million in a week since SoundScan began tracking sales data in 1991, and the highest sales week since 2005.

"Born This Way" also marks Gaga's first No. 1 album -- "The Fame" debut peaked at No. 2, while "The Fame Monster" EP reached No. 5 and dance effort "The Remix" hit No. 6.

Additionally, Gaga is only the fifth woman to notch a million-plus week. The record frame for a woman is held by the bow of Britney Spears' "Oops! I Did It Again," which started with 1,319,000 upon its release in May of 2000. "The Bodyguard" soundtrack, driven mostly by Whitney Houston songs, was the first SoundScan-era album to shift a million, and it did so over the busy Christmas shopping week of 1992 (1,061,000). Later, Norah Jonas' "Feels Like Home" debuted with 1,022,000 in 2004, and then the aforementioned Swift sizzled just last year

Lady Gaga's Bad Romance was officially the most played single on UK radio last year.

The song, from her album The Fame Monster, topped the annual airplay chart compiled by music licensing company PPL.
The flamboyant star also took third place in the chart with her song Alejandro, from the same album.
Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind came second.
The previous year's chart was topped by Lily Allen, with her single The Fear.
PPL, which collects airplay royalties on behalf of artists, generated a record £143.5m in 2010, up 11% on 2009.
The league table was released following Lady Gaga's announcement that she wants to learn sign language so she can speak to her deaf fans.
The Born This Way star is set to have American Sign Language lessons with a private tutor after seeing YouTube videos of her deaf fans signing along to her tracks.
Lucy Read, from the National Deaf Children's Society, told Sky News Online: "We are delighted that Lady Gaga is making her music accessible to deaf young people by learning sign language."

EMINEM LINKS UP WITH BRUNO MARS...
Apparently Bad Meets Evil's Hell: The Sequel isn't all bad and evil. On Thursday night, "Lighters" — a new song off of the upcoming collaborative EP by Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" — leaked onto the Internet, and it's a far cry from the project's first release "Fast Lane." While the latter tune had a darker feel and included references to pacts with the devil and decapitation, "Lighters" seems almost primed for regular radio rotation. The track was produced by Eminem, the Smeezingtons and Battle Roy, and features Bruno Mars on the hook.
Opening with sentimental piano chords and Bruno singing, "This one's for you and me living out our dreams," the song is as inspirational as it is catchy. Mars closes his introductory refrain, crooning, "All I want to see is a sky full of lighters," before giving way to a boastful and aggressive verse by Slim Shady.
The bass drops, synth chords come in and Em begins to do his thing, rapping, "By the time you hear this, I would have already spiraled up/ I would never do nothin' to let you cowards f--- my world up/ If I was you I would duck, or get struck/ Like lightening; fighters, keep fighting, put your lighters up, point 'em skyward up."
It's hard to imagine a time when Eminem wasn't regarded as one of rap's elite, but his past drug abuse did take its toll before he reemerged triumphant on last year's Grammy Award-winning album Recovery. On "Lighters," Em taps into the same feelings that he did on his comeback, lets loose and once again proves his rap dominance as he closes his verse, spitting, "I came with 5'9" but I feel like I'm 6'8"."

Rhianna Speaks on "Man Down" Video Controversy: "This Is Art With a Message"

Thursday night, during a live broadcast of 106 & Park, Rihanna called in to the show during a break from her tour to speak with Terrence & Rocsi about her controversal "Man Down" music video, which opens with a dramatic scene of her shooting a rapist.

Rihanna referred to the song's lyrics, which make it clear that her character is remorseful for the killing, not boasting about it. "We need to go back to why it happened," said Rihanna. "Obviously she's not a cold-blooded killer. It had to be something so offensive. And we decided to hone in on a very serious matter that people are afraid to address, especially if you've been victimized."

Rihanna went on to explain that she didn't set out to create a controversal video. However, she isn't surprised that the subject has created an uproar.

"Rape is, unfortunately, happening all over the world and in our own homes and we continue to cover it up and pretend it doesn't happen," said Rihanna. "Boys and girls feel compelled to be embarrassed about it, and they hide it from everyone, including their teachers, their parents and their friends. That only continues to empower the abusers."

Rihanna said she hoped that her song and video would empower young girls, but explained to Terrence and Rocsi that she was not encouraging any form of violent retaliation.

"I personally don't condone violence or murder," she said. I've been abused in the past and you don't see me running around killing people in my spare time. I just really want girls to be careful. Have fun, be sassy, be innoncent and sweet, be everything that you are. But just try not to be naive."

During the show, Terrence and Rocsi fielded reactions from viewers on Twitter. Most fans agreed with Rihanna, that the video's message is misunderstood.
